The same wild-type embryo (A, F, K) and kal1a morphants (B, G, L; C, H, M; D, I, N and E, J, O) were visualized at 24, 48, and 72 hpf. Dorsal is to the top, and ventral to the bottom. Large white arrow indicates tightly fasciculated OSN axons, small white arrows show defasciculated axon fibres within olfactory bulbs, red arrows indicate disorganized olfactory sensory axons and small green arrows point to dissociated olfactory sensory neurons.
