RT-PCR expression analysis of mc1r in the platyfish X. maculatus (A), the medaka O. latipes (B) and the zebrafish D. rerio (C). Origin of tissues and cell lines is given in Methods. RT-PCR products (“mc1r + RT”) were hybridized after Southern blotting with a mc1r-specific probe (“mc1r probe”) and washed under highly stringent conditions. dpf, days post fertilisation. No significant signal was obtained in the control PCR reaction without prior reverse transcriptase treatment, excluding the possibility of contamination with genomic DNA. EXPRESSION / LABELING:
