Biography and Research Interest
I am interested in the use of the zebrafish to answer questions relevant to human cancer, such as tumor angiogenesis during cancer progression. The use of small chemical compounds to dissect the function of signaling molecules has a dual benefit. We learn about the biological process as we evaluate the usefulness of a compound. Our routine techniques such as microinjection and microangiography, have given also me a chance to perform precise surgical manipulations. This experience has enhanced my appreciation for basic research as I pursue a career in clinical medicine.
