Note: This statement combines anatomy and/or ontology terms with phenotype quality terms to create a complete phenotype (EQ) statement. For detailed information on individual terms, click the hyperlinked term name.
Name: opercular lateral line
Synonyms: opercular lateral lines
Definition: One of eight distinct lateral lines in the 4-day larva positioned posteriorly to the second arch skeletal element. A sensory system on the surface of the fish, consisting of small sensory patches (neuromasts) distributed in discrete lines over the body surface. The lateral line system is stimulated by local water displacements and vibrations, and detects propulsion of the fish through the water, as well as facilitating shoaling, prey capture, and predator and obstacle avoidance. (See Anatomical Atlas entry for lateral line by T. Whitfield.)
Ontology: Anatomy Ontology [ZFA:0000424]
Name: nerve
Synonyms: nerves
Definition: A portion of tissue which is a fasciculated group of axons. Many time axons in the nerve are enveloped by the glial cells of the peripheral nervous system, the Schwann cells.
Ontology: Anatomy Ontology [ZFA:0007009]
Name: absent
Synonyms: absence, absent from organism
Definition: A quality denoting the lack of an entity.
Ontology: Phenotypic Quality Ontology [PATO:0000462]
