The glomerular layer of the main olfactory bulb, lying deep to the olfactory nerve layer. It contains the glomeruli, neuropil rich spheroid structures surrounded by a distinctive shell of small neuros and glial cells (Paxinos, the Rat Nervous System, 2nd ed., Academic Press, 1995).
