Definition

A parasitic helminthiasis infectious disease that involves infection of the intestine in goats, pigs and humans by the nematode Oesophagostomum bifurcum. The symptoms are a low-grade fever, tenderness in the lower-right quadrant and painless cutaneous masses in the lower abdominal region. Rarely, Oesophagostomum spp will perforate the bowel wall, causing purulent peritonitis or migrate to the skin, producing cutaneous nodules. http://www.dpd.cdc.gov/dpdx/HTML/Oesophagostomiasis.htm
