It is isolated from the roots of Asphodelus microcarpus and exhibits antimicrobial activity against bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and fungal microorganisms like Candida albicans and Botrytis cinerea.
