Biography and Research Interest
2008~ Assistant Professor, Division of Life Science, Department of Aquaculture, National Taiwan Ocean University, Taiwan
2004~2008 Post-doctoral Research Fellow, Institute of Cellular and Organismic Biology, Academia Sinica, Taiwan
2004 Ph.D., Graduate Institute of Life Sciences, National Defense Medical Center, Taiwan
My current research activities focus on the following areas:
(1) Functional genomics approach to study regulatory mechanism of growth factors and transcription factors involved in the growth of teleosts; (2) Establishment of functional genes as molecular markers of breeding to improve broodstock of the grouper and tilapia for growth promotion and disease-resistance; (3) Development of muscle-specific promoter/enhancer applied in transgenic fish to study functional genes in fish muscle growth and regeneration and to use fish muscle as bioreactor to produce interested proteins; (4) Zebrafish as an animal model to investigate molecular mechanisms of liver development and human liver diseases from steatosis to liver cancers.
