Biography and Research Interest
Research interest: How neuronal connectivity is encoded in the genome.
I study this question in the case of the lateral line because this sensory system is simpler and more accessible than the central nervous system. The lateral line is also an adequate system to study questions of general interest in developmental biology such as the control of cell migration, of cell proliferation, of cell determination, and of pattern formation.
