OPTICS: MAGNIFICATION: DATE OF IMAGE: SUBMITTER COMMENTS: c7 homozygote and a sib at 28 hpf. Image provided by Chien lab, 8/2002.
*Embryonic recessive phenotype: Easily visible at 24 hpf. Recessive lethal. Widespread necrosis in brain and spinal cord. Embryos are small and retarded relative to sibs; small eyes. Tail bent dorsally. Somites appear "scrunched". Embryos are hypermotile: spontaneous movements much more frequent than in sibs.
*Adult dominant phenotype: Stripe pattern altered ("jaguar" phenotype). Normal horizontal stripes are interrupted by multiple short vertical stripes. We believe that this stripe phenotype is completely linked to the c7 allele (Chien lab, 8/2002).
