Involved in cardiac muscle contraction and ventricular cardiac muscle cell development. Predicted to localize to integral component of membrane. Used to study dilated cardiomyopathy. Is expressed in cardiovascular system. Orthologous to several human genes including ICAM1 (intercellular adhesion molecule 1); ICAM2 (intercellular adhesion molecule 2); and ICAM3 (intercellular adhesion molecule 3).
