Description
Predicted to have DNA-binding transcription factor activity and cAMP response element binding activity. Predicted to be involved in endoplasmic reticulum unfolded protein response and positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Predicted to localize to nucleus. Is expressed in central nervous system; liver; notochord; sensory system; and yolk syncytial layer. Orthologous to human CREB3 (cAMP responsive element binding protein 3).

Note
Woods, et al. (2005. Genome Res. 15:1307-1914.) stated orthology to CREB3L3 supported by amino acid sequence identity. Subsequent data supported that a different gene (ZDB-GENE-030131-4298) is the ortholog of human CREB3L3 based on higher amino acid sequence identity as well as conserved location.
