Note: This statement combines anatomy and/or ontology terms with phenotype quality terms to create a complete phenotype (EQ) statement. For detailed information on individual terms, click the hyperlinked term name.
Name: melanoblast
Synonyms: melanoblasts
Definition: A cell that originates from the neural crest and differentiates into a pigment cell.
Ontology: Anatomy Ontology [ZFA:0009249]
Name: neural crest cell
Synonyms: neural crest cells
Definition: A cell of the neural crest. The neural crest is a strip of specialized ectoderm, the neural plate border, which flanks each side of the embryonic neural plate. Neural crest cells are multipotent. Premigratory neural crest cells are found at the neural plate boarder, some of which will undergo ectomesenchymal transition and delamination to form migratory neural crest cells. Most of the cranial and all of the spinal sensory ganglion cells arise by differentiation of neural crest cells.
Ontology: Anatomy Ontology [ZFA:0009165]
Name: aggregated
Synonyms: clumped, clustered
Definition: A spatial pattern inhering in a bearer by virtue of the bearer's being gathered or tending to gather into a mass or whole.
Ontology: Phenotypic Quality Ontology [PATO:0001629]
